It’s a risk to increase our
student body size, but in life we have to take risks in order to be successful.
To us, increasing our school student body size means that we can learn new
things from new teachers, having more space to do things by expand our school
by the profit that we gain for having more students, and many more benefits of
increasing our student body size. So for ISHCMC – AAVN grows effectively we
must guarantee great academic experiences and learning environment for students,
precaution of cyber bully, and we need to repair and provide better quality for
the students needs.
Having more students can help the
school improve its learning environment, which is great for students’ education
and academic experience. Many students said, “My school is like my second
home”; for those students to really said that then their school must include
many aspects that would make them comfortable to say that. According to Patrice
M. Kuntzier: “Being part of a school community means more than simply
participate in class or completing homework.” So according to the author words,
being in school and doing homework is just a small part of being in a school
community. Base on my experiences combine with the author words, in 10 years of
studying in different schools, students’ education is one of the main reasons
why parents let their children go to school; so if the students are comfortable
at where they are learning then they would be more effective in their learning.
To define to term of academic
experience, we must include many aspects like the experience in sharing with
each other, the experience in participating in sport events, the experience to
contribute to the environment that we live in, the experience that we gain for
our “mentors”, and many more experience that we can gain when we have more
students. According to Patrice M.Kuntzier: “It means learning to participate as
a member of the chorus, student government or a sport team means making
meaningful contributions to others through service projects or learning how to
become a mentor for a younger student.” So having a good academic experience
means you contribute to the “environment” that you live in. In my past
experiences and with the author words, having more students in our school can
make the students’ academic experience better. More people mean more stories to
share, more experience that we can learn from it. More students mean more sport
team, more people to contribute. And that is just some aspect of great academic
experience.
Secondly, cyber-bullying is one
of the problems that our school needs to pay attention. Many
people think that cyber
bullying isn’t a big deal, but as stated in the article ‘‘Stop
Cyber bullying’’. In some cases, if hacking or
password and identity theft is involved, it can be a serious criminal matter under
state and federal law. They
think this just because they have never been cyber bullied in
their life. “Cyber Bullying” is a term when
a person is being harassed by someone else on the Internetor on any other type
of technology. Every day in every state there are people that are cyber bullied.
Especially Teenager!As you
know, students are mostly teenager. They spent most of their
time behind the
computer screen to do things such
as homework, surfingweb, playing Facebook, chatting, playing games. And also they adding friend online that they
usually don’t know much about and don’t know what are they about to do or to
say to them. If the student body continues to grow, there will be a higher
chance of cyber-bullying in our school, and cyber-bullying might lead students
to take their own life. There is
not only one kind of students
that import to one school but there are whole lots of different kind of them
and the more students
the more different personal behavior
and different diverse personalities. There will be some of them who like bullying people apply to our school. According
to Rebecca Padgett, she wrote in the article
about cyber-bullying:
“Cyber bully victims should not feel the need to commit suicide because of what
cowards behind a computer screen are saying to them with the mere purpose of
feeding their insecurities or current struggles.”To precautions
cyber-bullying from
our school, we need to be
aware of whom we are talking to online because they might be fake and want to tease you by some reasons.
“We
can make a positive change in honor of Megan Meier, Rebecca Sedwick, and other
victims by pushing for laws and awareness to be spread about this harsh reality
that takes so many young lives too soon.” (Rebecca Padgett). Cyber bullying is
a very big crime at the moment because of cases of teens committing suicide
just because they received a cruel message from people. As you can see,
there’re lots and lots of situations that cyber-bully happen everyday
and teenagers took their own life just because someone makes fun of them or
threat them online. Cyber-bullying is spreading out everywhere. We need
to be aware, prevent and take it out of our school. By
taking more care about student needs,
teachers have to be observant of the student action that may lead to
cyber-bullying. Quickly prevent it before they do something silly or hurt
themselves.
As the school continues to grow,
we need to repair and provide better quality facilities to meet the needs of
the number of students. First of all, the school needs to provide high quality
facilities because the lack of good facilities can make the teachers and
students feel unsafe, uncomfortable. For example, in chemistry class, some
students have had some small accidents with the Bunsen burner, and the school
has lost more than 10 gas pipe’s switch handles. Also, if too many students use
the materials, they will rust, break and cause malfunction, which can lead to
life’s risk when doing experiments, using harmful substances. In the lunch
area, there are too many broken chairs, broken tables causing some of us to
stand or sit on stairs in front of the library to eat. Many school’s facilities
are getting old and falling apart, unexpected accidents may occur. According to
David Pressler, all the teachers and students can affectively study and not
feeling risky when they are in a safe place. They will receive better results
in good learning environment. In
addition, the school needs to provide additional funding to produce better
results, repair broken facilities for student’s safety. “However, facilities
appear to be the single most difficult and most expensive part of the total
problem” (David Pressler). The first feasible scheme is to increase the number
of students in our school to get higher profits. The more students come, the
higher finances the school receives. The school should try to speed up
advertising to attract people. On the other hand, if the number of students was
enough, our school could increase the school’s fee to buy more modern, good
facilities. Based on the idea about the safety of facilities, I think our
parents would agree to pay more money to guarantee our safety and our improvement.
In conclusion, increasing the
students in our school is good if we knew how to improve all the problems. Our school
needs to be aware of cyber-bullying, the possibility of student’s suicide
because of bullying may happen. Facilities would need to repair and provide better
quality to meet student needs. Moreover, when our learning environment is
better, it would be great for students’ education and academic experience.
Based on all of our researches, we have enough evidences to conclude that our
school can add more students.
